The Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of System Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT services and maintaining the performance, security, and availability of the organization's systems.

Position Details

Position: System Administrator.
Job Grade: KTNA 7.
Number of Posts: 1.
Employer: Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade).
Reports to: Assistant Manager Data and Systems Management.
Duty Station: Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain enterprise servers, networks, and storage solutions.
Implement and enforce system policies and best practices.
Perform system updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot IT related issues.
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability.
Collaborate with internal teams to improve IT infrastructure and system efficiency.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT related procurement and support.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to the role.

Qualifications

At least three years of relevant experience in system administration.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in Windows and Linux server operating systems.
Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization, and network administration.
Strong knowledge of systems security best practices.
Professional certification such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or an equivalent qualification.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
